*TD's I Love Lucy is a foundation bred ABC mare with an incredibly beautiful dark red, red, red coat! Her double ringlet mane, soft curls and thick tail really make her a stand-out kind of girl, but it is her heart that makes her a love. *Lucy is easy-going, sweet natured and loves her humans so much. She is a joy to be around and when she moves, she really turns heads! Her ground covering trot and extension are really something to watch - and we are not suprised, considering her lineage. It seems to come naturally for so many Curlies from the Ebony line. Her sire, *D&T's Rain Maker, is actually a full brother to our beloved *Morning Dove - how could we resist! *Lucy is a product of the early breeding program of Tom and Denise Conroy, and I would say they got the combination right when they matched up her sire and dam. She is a proven producer as a broodmare and just carries so many traits found in the early bloodlines : hard hooves, thick lanolin coat (complete with the Curly smell), almond eyes, oval nostrils, outstanding tough conformation and that super willing and drawn to humans spiirt. We are so happy to add *Lucy to our breeding program and are super excited to see what she will bring to the breed when crossed with our stallions.
The following photos were graciously provided by Denise Conroy of *Lucy's parents, early life, and one of her lovely offspring (with Denise riding). Thanks Denise! *Lucy's early days...
Below is a picture of one of *Lucy's foals that Denise shared with me, along with the following description: "A friend of mine has a filly by Lucy, they called her Ethel..And that filly is really awesome. Ethel gives lessons now and is also very light and willing. Ethel is now Annie, renamed. =] This is a pic of me riding her bareback with a halter one day that I stopped by. Lovely movement like her mama."
