Zadie is a people loving mare and just begs for attention! She is also so very inquisitive, and has to help with whatever you are doing. Water is one of her very favorite things - and we have had to be creative to keep her from using the water trough as a swimming pool - Zadie loves to go for a swim!

She had a little run of bad luck in the summer of '08, and mysteriously broke the cartlidge cap from her hip bone (with no outward sign of injury). She was on "pen rest" all winter, and the veterinarian at the Equine Hospital that examined her said she could very well lead a normal life as a riding or driving horse and as a broodmare. We later sold Zadie to an older gentleman that lived just down the road in the next town - he loved her to pieces, started her under saddle, and had her for the delivery of her first foal ~ *Stag Creek Pawnee. We later purchased her foal back - an incredibly beautiful little lady that was just a wonderful example of a purebred Curly, and when we were contacted this spring about this gentleman's need to sell Zadie due to recent heart surgery, we jumped at the chance! So........Zadie is now at home at Stag Creek again, and she is kind of looking at me with that "hey, what was that all about" look in her eyes - even after being gone for a couple of years, Zadie seems to remember me and her first home, and has settled right in! I just love the way horses think!!!

Zadie is a proven broodmare, and will be bred to *Tall Trees Misdemeanor for a 2012 foal that will no doubt be incredibly friendly, sweet and beautiful! She has been ridden about 15 times while at the gentleman's home, and of course, my daughter had always saddled and climbed on her here too at our farm. I have not had any personal experience with her training level under saddle, so she will be offered for sale as a bred mare / broodmare. Zadie still loves people like crazy, and thrives on attention. She also gets along well with other horse friends, yet can hold her own in a herd. It would be her greatest desire to live in a home that had a pond or creek that she could swim in........she really does love to take a dip! That fact alone makes me think this lady would be fun to ride on the trails - I don't think any obstacle would be a problem for our Zadie!
