The long awaited and much loved *Manchaca! Oh what a handsome colt!!! Morning Dove's foals are always dear to us - maybe because of her own sweet personality and her unselfish manner of passing that to her babes. And *Manchaca is no exception to that rule, he came out friendly and loving and setting the world on fire with his beauty and charm! *Manchaca is true early Curly type and has such an alluring look to his face that he captures your attention instantly and refuses to let it go. Besides his super disposition, outstanding conformation and incredible purebred bloodlines, *Manchaca promises to bring size to any breeding facility. We feel this young man will do amazing things for the Curly breed - and he looks to possibly be homozygous for the curl gene also - so his foals will all be outstanding representations of this rare breed as well as all have those fabulous curls!
The photos below were taken August 24, 2011. I love this colt. Everything about him. He has that look. He is a purebred example of a rare breed. He is special. He is not perfect. We do not own a perfect horse. There are few perfect examples in any rare breed, in any species. If someone is looking for perfection, then perhaps it will be best sought in a heavily populated breed such as the Quarter Horse. And even in the numbers of millions, it is probably not completely possible to find complete perfection. When I think of owning a rare breed, I think of owning something unique, something different, something special. I wouldn't want any rare breed that I chose to just look like another breed in disguise. I would want it to be as purely close to what it should be. Being close to that example would be much more important than it being perfect. Rarity, purity, uniqueness - those are probably the things we look for when we make the decision to be stewards of a rare breed. *Manchaca is that. I don't know what you want to see when you look out in your field ~ but when I look out in mine, this is what I want to see. And come to think of it......maybe he is perfection after all.
