ABC 2191
f. 9-26-1996. Sire: Joe’s Birthday Colt ABC P-798(F) dam: Mead’s Black Beauty ABC S-101(F)
We chose this horse from amongst Joe Mead’s herd in 1998 to be our main sire. “Joe”, as we call him, is an incredible horse and exhibits many of the early curly horse traits found in the Damele bloodlines. He has a short back, heavy bone, hard round hooves, stands a measured 15 and almost .1hh, has flat knees, oval nostrils, “sleepy” eyes, a muscular build, powerful movement, and a quiet, sweet temperament. His foals are well built, have nice dispositions, and often have no white markings - like their father. When crossed with a lighter framed mare, Joe can really throw some nice, sport horse type offspring. The last six pictures below are of Joe in his late summer coat, and unfortunately I kept getting him with his eyes closed, but I wanted to include them here as they seem to demonstrate what I get to see every day.
